Organic, Grass Fed, What’s The Highest Quality Of Food?

Intro

In episode 86 of HealingMatters, Jason Eagle talks about food quality and food labels. Does the label actually mean what you envision? Does food quality change based on how the animal is raised or what it eats? What is the best quality food with the most nutrition? What’s the healthiest?

Food Labels

When you think of food, what labels pop into your mind? Have you heard of Organic, Grass Fed, Pastured, Wild Crafted, Farm Raised, Local, Conventional? Some of these labels come with expensive price tags. Are you really getting what you pay for? Is the food more nutrition or of higher quality just because the it has a different label? You might be surprised to hear that “Organic” isn’t always the best choice. The best quality is always homegrown. It’s fresher and if you add the minerals back into the soil, it’s healthier.

HM 86 Food Quality

Do food labels mean you are getting the highest quality food?

Diet Types

Not only do we have to think about the types of foods to eat, we have to think about the way to eat. Have you heard of Plant Based, Vegan, Carnivore, Omnivore, Fruitarian, Vegetarian, Paleo, or Keto? The list is as long as your arm! Which is the healthiest? Not only does it depend on the stage your body is at and what you are trying to achieve, there is not one size fits all to a diet type. Healthy also depends upon how the plants and animals are raised. I eat seasonally and I practiced Intermittent Fasting.

Soil Health

In America, we’re in a legal system. Organic is actually a purchased label. Conventional might actually be healthier depending upon how the farmer is nitrifying the soil. Poor soil, plus chemicals and fertilizer yield poor quality of food. The number one thing missing in the soil MINERALS and MICROBES! Is your food on life support because the soil is void of health? Soil is like your immune system. If it’s teaming with microbes and healthy bacteria, it will be able to support healthy plants and animals.

Small Farms

Small farms tend to have the healthier soil because they are more connected to the health of their farm. They are also growing many different species of plants and animals creating microbe diversity. Even though they many not be able to afford the “Organic” label, you will likely be getting a much higher quality product!

Grass Fed

When you hear grass fed, do you think of a chicken or a cow out in a field foraging? Think again, this could be just another legal loop hole for a label unless you know your farmer. Animals need to be out in fresh air, sunshine, grazing on grass and insects to produce the highest quality egg, beef, etc. If the animals aren’t outside grazing on grass, they are likely being fed processed feed. One the shell or kernel is cracked and exposed to air, they oils in the feed will start to go rancid.

How Jason Can Help

Jason’s vast nutritional knowledge and use Quantum Reflex Analysis (muscle testing) to ask the body what it is allergic to, what it is deficient in, where energy flows are depleted, what food/nutritional program is right for you and more. By using a holistic approach to health Jason can incorporate many modalities to restore the balance, energy flow, nutrition, and emotional health, Naturally! Jason can administer Mud Packs (I-Packs), Massage Therapy, and design a Nutritional Program.

Jason and Katy had an unexpected start to a homestead in 2014. Katy’s father didn’t want to mow the lawn anymore. Before you knew it, there were five sheep in the backyard. Jason wanted a garden, so we cleared some land. Katy wanted some chickens, so we built a coop. Follow us on our multigenerational homesteading adventures and watch how we incorporate Jason’s Quantum Reflex Analysis (holistic health) background at S. Healing Homestead.
